Bstract. At the present stage of development and implementation of additional vocational education in the healthcare system, there is an urgent need to include a simulation component in the programs of additional vocational education. This need is associated with the need for students to acquire and improve practical skills by healthcare professionals without risk to patients, collective interaction, as well as in order to prepare for further primary specialized and periodic accreditation. More than 300 programs of additional professional education have been developed and are being implemented on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Astrakhan State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Among them are 80 % of additional vocational education programs using simulation technologies, more than half of which are accredited on the portal of continuing medical education of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as professional retraining and advanced training programs.
